RESTAURANTS: Bodega Española [Niederdorf] A real Spanish Bodega with Spanish staff. Sit downstairs, Tortillas & Tapas available Bohemia [Kreuzplatz] American Breakfast until 4pm and free Salsa on Fridays - under renovation, reopens Jan. 2012 Für Dich ("For you") [District 4] A 3-room-hotel with much more space as a restaurant. Local people from the area around Odeon [Bellevue] A café/restaurant since 1911. Even Lenin was there. Gayfriendly & peoplewatching outside incl. Rote Fabrik ("red factory") [District 2] Independent cultural center with restaurant right at the lakeside. Especially nice in summer. Features concerts, gallery etc. Terroir [Schauspielhaus/Kunsthaus] Next to Schauspielhaus theater. Nice on ground floor and esp. the front upstairs Uto Kulm [Uetliberg] Nothing special, therefore maybe typically Swiss - except a great view on Zurich! Zähringer [Niederdorf] Rather alternative, lead by a collective. Take your time and play chess or backgammon |
BARS: Andorra [Niederdorf] Named after a play by Swiss author Max Frisch. Smooth Jazz & a selection of international beers Cabaret Voltaire [Niederdorf] Not a cabaret but a café and esp. the place Dadaism was born on 5th February 1916 Canale Grande [Limmatquai] Zurichs Canale Grande is the river Limmat. Small & nice café/bar, free W-Lan Coraçon [Niederdorf] The whole bar is a lounge with comfortable couches and a special interieur Neumarkt Theater [Niederdorf] A small bar belonging to the Neumarkt theater.
